Frequently asked questions.

What is therapeutic art-making, and how does it help?

Therapeutic art-making is a process where creative expression is used to explore emotions, reduce stress, and increase self-awareness. It helps you process experiences, develop new insights, and build confidence as we focus on growth and self-acceptance, not artistic skill or perfection.

Do I need any art experience to participate in coaching sessions or workshops?

No experience is needed! Take what you think you know about creativity and throw it out the window ;)! In this space, art-making is about expression, not perfection. I’ll guide you in exploring techniques that suit you.

How are faith-based elements incorporated into your services?

Faith-based components are integrated upon request. We use Biblical principles and focus on strengthening identity, resilience, and purpose.

What is the difference between creative life coaching and traditional therapy?

Creative life coaching is forward-focused, using art to support self-discovery and confidence-building. Traditional therapy dives deeper into mental health struggles and processing past lived experiences as well as traumas; my coaching is about celebrating and empowering. My approach is rooted in therapeutic art principles but focuses on growth and goal-setting rather than mental health diagnoses. Coaching is not a substitute for therapy; each offers its own unique focus and benefits.

What can I expect in a typical 1:1 coaching session?

Sessions are 2 hours long and include guided art-making, reflection, and personal goal-setting. We’ll address topics like imposter syndrome, self-confidence, and embracing your strengths. Each session starts with checking in, reviewing homework (if applicable), and setting the intention for that session. Sessions are a balance of creative exploration and verbal processing. Expect a safe, non-judgmental space for creativity and exploration.

What should I bring to a workshop or coaching session?

Bring an open mind and a willingness to try new things! I always suggest making your space comfortable. Whether it be through lighting a candle, having your favorite blanket, and a cup of your favorite hot/cold beverage. Before the session, you’ll receive a list of suggested materials. No fancy art supplies are required—chances are, you already have what you need (just like in life, where we often already possess what we need to succeed; we just have to recognize it😊).

How do I sign up for coaching or workshops?

How do you accommodate neurodivergent clients in sessions?
